At Homefeeds we are committed to protecting your privacy and safeguarding your data. We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully (in accordance with the GDPR ACT 2018). We take your privacy very seriously and do not share your information with any third parties under any circumstances. You have the right to be informed about what we do with your data, and why. Therefore, please read the details shown below.
Collecting very specific, relevant information is a necessary part of us being able to provide you with an efficient service. We will only use your personal information fairly and securely, and will never do anything with it (such as sharing it with any other party) that you have not clearly agreed to, or that could be considered irresponsible.
We collect data for a legitimate business interest – it is in our legitimate business interest to keep you informed of our products with the purpose of retaining your custom for the future, or, if you are not currently a customer, for the purposes of potentially supplying you with our products. When we process your personal information for our legitimate interests, we make sure to consider and balance any potential impact on you (both positive and negative), and your rights under data protection laws. Our legitimate business interests do not automatically override your interests – we will not use your Personal Data for activities where our interests are overridden by the impact on you (unless we have your consent or are otherwise required or permitted to by law).
We collect your data from phone calls, emails and loyalty card registration forms. We collect and process information about you for 2 reasons: firstly, to process your orders you place with us, and secondly, to collect sales data when processing our loyalty card scheme. The data collected when you use your loyalty card, helps us to provide you with the best possible service. When joining the loyalty scheme, you advise us of how you wish to be contacted, and we record this so that we only contact you in the manner that you have requested.
The typical type of information we will collect about you includes:
• your name
• phone number
• email address
In addition to that, if you have joined our loyalty points scheme, we then store data of the products purchased when using your loyalty card. We do not pass the purchasing data on to any third parties, and only use this data to send special offers for individual products that you may have purchased in the past, or to advise you of such things as product recalls etc.
We may use technology to track the patterns of behaviour of visitors to our website. This can include using a “cookie” which would be stored on your browser. You can usually modify your browser to prevent this happening. The information collected in this way can be used to identify you unless you modify your browser settings.
AT ANY TIME you have the right to withdraw your consents to us, object to us processing any of your data, request clarification or rectification of your data, by simply contacting via the email address below, or by calling 01270 586250. You can also lodge a complaint with the ICO if you feel we have not lived up to our obligations by clicking here https://ico.org.uk/concerns/
You have the right to be forgotten by us – if you want to be forgotten, please contact us. We will remove all the data we hold other than what is required under our contractual obligations. We will not communicate with you. However, you should be aware that by being forgotten, should your details be passed to us or you make a new enquiry, we will neither hold, nor have access to data about you. We also need to store some data, in a secure place, to ensure that we remember your request to be forgotten (for example should we need to restore systems from a backup, we need to know, to remember, that you wanted to be forgotten).
We confirm that we have taken the necessary technical, organisational and administrative measures to provide a secure environment for the storage and processing of your data, and this will be continually reviewed and updated to take account of industry best practice.
As part of handling and processing of your data we have a designated Data Controller and this is your first point of call should you have any issues or questions about what we do, or why we do it. Our Data Controller is: Homefeeds Ltd, Unit 1 Alexandra Business Park, Gresty Lane, Crewe, Cheshire CW2 5DD.
